Retenion Policy, Only apply "personal folder option" to certain folders.
So, I have a default retention policy with the following tags: Name Type Action Delete Sent Items 90 Days Sent Items Delete Allow Recovery Delete Deleted Items 5 Days Deleted Items Delete Allow Recovery Never Delete Personal Folder Delete Allow Recovery In our old Lotus Environment people got prompted every time they sent an email if they wanted it saved. If they chose "yes" then it would sit in the sent items and never expire. Right now the default is to delete sent items after 90 days... with the option to select never delete from the personal folder retention options. The problem is they can apply the never delete to any item in any folder including the "deleted Items" folder. Can I set the option to only be applicable for the sent Items folder? Thank-you

Hi Crac, It seems it is cant be achieved for your target. Per my known, Users can apply personal tags to folders they create or to individual items, even if those items already have a different tag applied. That means users can apply a retention policy to user-created folders or subfolders and individual items (including subfolders and items in a default folder), but not to default folders. If we create the personal type RPT in the policy and and link it to the mailboxes ; and then, the client users could set it by themselves. In my opinion, it is by design, and it is flexible for users, maybe we could let the users attention to it when we do the trainning for them. I totally agree with you thats it is by design. My only concern is the end user that will highlight "Sent Items" and "Deleted Items" and Apply the Never delete tag on a weekly basis. Thats all. If it can't be done then it can't be done.
